'Terra Vermelha' is the result of a decade of work and experience by Tommaso Protti in Brazil, also accompanying a territory "where indigenous communities fight for survival in the face of rampant deforestation and the countless environmental crimes that are practiced there", says the Narrativa space, which hosts the exhibition.

Tommaso Protti will be at the opening on Friday and also for a conversation with the public about this work, which crosses several realities in Brazil: unregulated deforestation, corruption, pollution, poverty.

"In the Amazon it is clear that the land is worth more than human life. And on the path to the destruction of the planet, the next step for humanity is its own extinction", says the photographer on the official page.

With 'Terra Vermelha', Tommaso Protti was awarded by the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute in the United States and by the Carmignac Foundation in France.

This exhibition opens the third edition of the Narrativa Cycle, which, between Friday and Sunday, brings together authors from different countries and areas of intervention through Photography in Lisbon.

During three days there will also be a reading of 'portfolios' with international publishers, book presentations or debates, with the participation of Tommaso Protti, Leonel de Castro, João Cruz, Catarina Cesário Jesus, Aneta Kowalczyk, Grzegorz Kosmala, Katya Bogachevskaya and Francesca Faulin.

The publishers Blow UP Press, XYZ Books, Fotografika Publishing and VOID will be present.

The documentary 'All the Beauty and the Bloodshed', by Laura Poitras, about the artist Nan Goldin, is also scheduled to be shown at the Fernando Lopes cinema, within the Lusófona University.

The Narrativa space, inaugurated in 2022, is a studio, gallery, library and non-profit association whose mission is to share and value Photography as a form of expression and communication.
