Daniel Soares' Short Film with a Special Mention at the Cannes Film Festival
Portuguese director Daniel Soares won today a special mention at the Cannes Film Festival, in France, with the short film 'Bad for a moment', which was part of the official competition, announced the jury.

"A 'team-building' event goes wrong and forces the owner of an architecture studio to face the reality of the working-class neighborhood that his company is gentrifying," says the film's synopsis.
The cast includes João Villas Boas, Ana Vilaça, Isac Graça, Cláudia Jardim, João Patrício, among others.
Daniel Soares, a director, photographer and screenwriter, born in Germany, is also the author of other short films, namely the award-winning 'O que resta' (2021) and 'Please make it work' (2022).
'Bad for a moment' was in the official competition at Cannes in the same section that awarded the Palme d'Or in 2009 to 'Arena' by João Salaviza.
This year, the top prize for best short film at Cannes went to the film "The man who could not remain silent" by Neboljsa Slijepcevic.
The 77th Cannes Film Festival, one of the most important and oldest in the film industry, began on the 14th and ends today with the ceremony to announce the award-winning films.
