FC Porto's 'Executioner' falls in the final and Olympiacos wins the Youth League

Olympiacos have claimed their first UEFA Youth League title after beating AC Milan 3-0 in the final in Nyon on Monday, the Italians having been the team to knock FC Porto out of the competition on penalties last Friday following a 2-2 draw after extra time. After a goalless first half, the second period was a different story in terms of attacking intent, with three goals for the Greek side in the space of just seven minutes. Mouzakitis converted a penalty on 59 minutes and Papakanellos then did almost everything himself to make it 2-0 two minutes later. The third and final goal of the game proved to be the pick of the bunch, Bakoulas scoring with an acrobatic effort on 66 minutes to put the result beyond doubt. In a final between two clubs who had never previously reached this stage of the competition, it was Olympiacos who emerged triumphant to lift the trophy for the first time at the tenth attempt.
