Al Hilal, coached by Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus, won 2-1 on Tuesday against Al Ain in the second leg of the semi-finals, but failed to qualify for the final of the Asian Champions League.

After the match, the Portuguese manager complained that a penalty kick was not awarded in favour of his team, stressing that Al Hilal deserved to have reached the final of the competition. "We prepared the team with all the game plans, but we were not lucky enough to score. We had a different second half, in which we did everything. We did not have a clear penalty kick. And we missed Mitrovic and Neymar," said the Portuguese manager, quoted by the newspaper Arriyadiyah. "I reviewed the details of the game and saw the opportunities achieved and told them in the locker room: 'Raise your heads, you did everything'," he continued, explaining the changes he made. "Replacing Yasser Al-Shahrani was with the aim of seeking offensive solutions, and I included Kanu to play aerial balls keeping Malcolm on the side, and when Salem Al-Dosari got injured, I had to resort to Malcolm," he said. "We cannot forget that this team has won 45 games and I am sure that we will continue to do so," he concluded.
