Benfica beats Sporting and is one step away from being crowned youth champion
With just four rounds to go until the end of the season, the reds lead the table with an eight-point advantage.

Benfica may have taken, at the end of the morning this Sunday, a 'giant step' towards being crowned national youth champions, thanks to the triumph achieved at Sporting, in the heart of the Alcochete Academy, by 1-2.
The reds took the lead just 22 minutes after the initial whistle, through Eduardo Fernandes, with the lions responding right at the start of the second half, through Miguel Almeida. The decisive goal would come in the 82nd minute, following a penalty converted by Tomás Soares.
With this triumph, Benfica now has 26 points, which leaves it in the lead in the U-17 championship qualifying phase, with an eight-point advantage over the second-placed team, FC Porto.
The dragons defeated, precisely, at the same time, Sporting de Braga, by 1-3, which allowed them to overtake the lions, who, with only four rounds to go until the end of the season, are in third place, with 17 points.
