Desporto Roménia

An unbelievable story reached us from Romania in the last hours of this Sunday. Dinamo Bucharest, a historic Romanian club, suspects that Edgar Ié, who is an international for Portugal, has asked his twin brother and also footballer Edelino Ié to play in his place. The case is causing a lot of ink to flow. This rumor began to be aired on Saturday after journalist Daniel Sendre wrote about this hypothesis on his social networks. In this message, the journalist in question says that the club's leaders in the Romanian capital were suspicious of the player's poor performances. In addition, and according to the local press, what would have denounced this situation was the fact that the player who is at the club does not know how to speak English and only expresses himself in Portuguese, despite the fact that Edgar Ié speaks fluent English after an extensive career in European football. Like his brother Edgar Ié, Edelino was also trained at Sporting. He has been without a club since he left Tluchowia, from Poland, at the end of last year. Before that, he had represented GD Resende, from the Portuguese Championship. Case may have consequences. Club denied the facts If this unusual situation is confirmed, Dinamo Bucharest may lose all the games in which Ié played. So far, the Romanian capital club has managed to win eight points in five games in which the central defender was used. However, there is a possibility that the Romanian team will escape punishment. "There is no provision regarding this situation, with regard to kinship. If that football player played falsely, there may be sanctions. Legally, a DNA test can decide everything if the result is against you. Certainly, Dinamo never intended to use a twin brother instead of the legitimate one. I think that they, if the DNA result confirms that he is his twin brother, should consider a defense, considering that they did not know about this. Regarding the loss of games in the table, the possibility will have to be considered. But if Dinamo was deceived and can prove it, then the risk of losing points does not exist", said a source from the Romanian league to the newspaper iAMsport. Speaking to the same publication, Andrei Nicolescu, administrator of Dinamo Bucharest, rejected these accusations. "We avoided making a statement. The Romanian press should pay more attention because it is defending this. Nobody talked to us, the employees. We consider the person who launched this rumor as a cancer for Dinamo. It was a concerted attack against us. I don't want us to be ridiculed. Forget this topic, it's false! There is a world of difference between him and his brother. The press went ahead with the subject and pressured us", said the leader of the Romanian capital team. Edgar Ié arrived at Dinamo Bucharest in February of this year and played five games for the Romanian team, the last of which was on April 1st. A Portuguese international on one occasion, the 30-year-old central defender has played for Barcelona, Belenenses, Lille, Nantes, Feyenoord, Trabzonspor and Istanbul Basaksehir.
