Official: Former FC Porto is the new coach of Salzburg
Pepijn Lijnders will succeed Onur Cinel, next season.

Salzburg announced, in the form of a statement issued through official platforms late on Wednesday morning, that it had reached an agreement with Pepijn Lijnders, the chosen one to lead the main team next season.
The hitherto 'right-hand man' of Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool will thus succeed Onur Cinel, who has been at the helm of the Austrian team on an interim basis since last April, following the dismissal of Gerhard Struber due to a crisis in results.
This will be only the second experience in the entire career of the 41-year-old Dutchman 'solo', at the highest level. The first took place in the 2017/18 season, when he coached NEC Nijmegen for 22 official matches.
Pepijn Lijnders also has a spell at FC Porto on his CV, between 2007 and 2014, where he worked mainly at the youth level. He will now join one of the clubs in the Red Bull 'universe', having signed a contract valid until June 2027.
