The strike notices, which will last for five days and five nights, cover the workers of the cement factories of Cimpor Indústria (Souselas, Alhandra and Loulé), as well as Ciarga (Alhandra and Maia) and Cimpor Serviços, and the latter have also put forward some specific demands.

The origin of this strike is the demand for a reduction in working hours to 37 hours per week, as well as the demand for a guarantee of complementary health benefits for all active workers, retirees and family members.
In the case of Cimpor Serviços, the strike is based on the aspect of health supplements, to which is added the demand for "equal treatment with the parent company Cimpor", namely the payment of a 15th month, evolution in annuities and equal salary increases, in percentage and minimum value, beyond 2024.
In this case, the strike will start at 8:00 am on June 3 and end at the same time on June 8.
At Cimpor Indústria, the start and end times of the strike (both also in the morning) vary according to the factory and type of function, ranging from 5:00 am on June 3 to 8:00 am on June 8.
Before the strike, a negotiation meeting is scheduled with the administration, which will take place on Wednesday, May 29, with Feviccom stressing the need for the company to stop "pushing its belly forward" and assume "concrete commitments".
It is recalled that Cimpor workers held a strike in April, demanding salary increases, and managed to obtain an increase of 5.3% in 2024 with a minimum monthly increase of 100 euros.
