Bethany Ugarte-Cameron is a health influencer. Late last year, she shared a video with a hack for beating constipation. It involved eating an entire orange, peel and all, with cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Does it work?
Dietitian Lauren Manaker breaks down the trend for 'EatingWell', and whether or not it's worth trying. In the video, Ugarte-Cameron washed an orange with hot water, sliced it, sprinkled it with cinnamon and cayenne pepper and ate it, rind and all.

She claimed that within five to 10 minutes, her constipation was relieved. "The individual ingredients do offer various health benefits. The flesh and peel contain fibre, for example," says Manaker.
"Orange peels do tend to carry pesticide residue, but having an orange every once in a while likely won't hurt you," she continues.
“If you're looking to improve your constipation, rather than trying an unproven wellness hack, seek advice from a healthcare professional, such as a registered dietitian," she concludes.
