As we age, it becomes even more important to work on our balance. Why? Falling and breaking a bone can lead to a number of other serious health problems, long-term disability, or even increase your risk of death. Doing certain exercises can help make sure that doesn't happen. Want some examples?
Well, Andrea Lepcio, the founder and owner of Mighty Fit, as quoted in BestLife, suggests that you try doing some very simple single-leg balance exercises.
First, "start by standing next to a chair or wall for support," she explains. Then, "lift one foot and balance for as many seconds as you can." Rest and then repeat on the other side.

Another exercise she recommends is called the "rock the boat," which is a simple move that will challenge you to "re-center your body as you shift your weight from one leg to the other."
You'll start by standing. If you need extra stability, stand near a chair or wall. "Then, in a slow and controlled motion, lift one leg out to the side and hold it there. Lower it back down and then do the same thing on the other side."
Once you're comfortable, start "rocking back and forth between each leg," and eventually work up to holding each leg out for 30 seconds "before stepping down and lifting the other leg" to do the same.
