"We have left 16 proposals with the Minister [of Health] for the emergency plan that is being prepared. A large part of these measures are based on the issue of access and improving access to care. Today, nurses have a set of skills that can be put at the service of the country and, therefore, we have left these proposals," said the president of OE, Luís Filipe Barreira.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting at the Ministry of Health, Luís Filipe Barreira revealed that Ana Paula Martins guaranteed that the issue of career enhancement would be "in terms of a motivation plan and an emergency plan that will be prepared and presented shortly".
According to Luís Filipe Barreira, the government official will meet with the unions to discuss the nurses' career and salary conditions.
The Ministry of Health team began a set of meetings today with the professional associations in the sector, in a week also marked by the start of negotiations with the unions.
