A 30-year-old man was detained outside of flagrante delicto, on Thursday, for being suspected of a qualified theft crime, in Oeiras.
The crime was allegedly committed on 27 April, the day in which “over 200 thousand euros in watches and other gold items” were “removed” from inside a residence, reported the Public Security Police (PSP), in a statement sent to newsrooms.
“After an investigation it was possible to identify the author of the theft, and, at the time of the approach, the suspect was wearing one of the stolen watches, worth 120 thousand euros, on his wrist”, detailed the same note.
In this line, a house search was carried out, which culminated in the seizure of two Patek Philippe watches, a Rolex watch and an IWC watch.
The authorities also highlighted that the man was a repeat offender, “having already served a prison sentence for thefts and other types of criminal offenses”.
The individual will now be present for the first judicial interrogation, for the application of the coercion measures.
This was an action by the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP, through the Oeiras Police Division.
