It is not an unknown face for the Portuguese. Timothy Vieira, better known as Tim Vieira, is an entrepreneur and investor who became famous in the Portuguese version of the program 'Shark Tank', in 2015.
Now, he promises to be present again in the national life, with a much greater ambition: To be President of the Republic.
"Today is a special date for me because I am publicly taking the first step on a path that I started a few months ago. I did not choose April 25th by chance. On the day when democracy is celebrated, I share the image of my campaign for the 2026 presidential elections," announced the businessman, born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1976.
Acknowledging that "the path to the elections will be long and with obstacles," Tim Vieira believes that the path will be made easier by the fact that he is accompanied by the right people.
'Portuguese identity, the heart of change' is the motto of the businessman's campaign, which defends that "the values and unique characteristics of the Portuguese should be the driving force of change and innovation in our country".
To be a candidate, Tim needs to collect 7,500 signatures. The next presidential elections, it should be recalled, will take place in 2026.
Tim Vieira was part of the panel of 'sharks' of the program that premiered on SIC in 2015, alongside businessman Mário Ferreira, from Douro Azul, João Rafael Koehler, president of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE).
