Lionel Messi shines in the United States and adds his first MLS award
Argentino named competition's Player of the Month after contributing to 10 Inter Miami goals in the space of a month.

It took a while, but it was achieved. Lionel Messi won his first Major League Soccer (MLS) Player of the Month award this Thursday, after having shone in an Inter Miami jersey during the month of April.
The Argentine international scored six goals and provided four assists in the four games he played last month. Messi was involved in ten of Inter Miami's goals during the aforementioned period, against New England Revolution (4-1), Nashville (3-1), Sporting Kansas (3-2) and Colorado Rapids (2-2).
Furthermore, the Argentine made history for Inter Miami, as he was the second player from the North American club to win this award. His teammate, Luis Suárez, had won the award for the February/March period.
In total this season, Leo Messi has scored 11 goals and provided six assists in ten matches.
