Pinto da Costa: "The Apito Dourado trial left no marks on me"

Pinto da Costa was Daniel Oliveira's guest this Saturday on 'Alta Definição' and, among other topics, he also talked about the 'Apito Dourado' process and about the club's elections, which will take place next Saturday, April 27th.
Questioned about how he dealt with the process, a corruption scandal in Portuguese football, which emerged in 2004, Pinto da Costa stated that it never 'took his sleep away', not even when he went to court.
"The Apito Dourado process did not leave any marks on me. I never lost any sleep [because of it], I left it to the lawyers. I knew what it was and that, in fact, they had nothing to hold on to", he began by saying.
"I always slept with a clear conscience. What bothers me is that, at a time when it is 50 years since April 25th, I cannot be talking to you without being 'listened to'", he also added.
About the elections on April 27th, Pinto da Costa says he is relaxed. "Whatever happens will always be the responsibility of those who vote".
