Experts suggest supplements for women over 50

There are four supplements that are most effective in addressing the specific nutritional needs of women over 50, according to nutritionists Mastaneh Sharafi and Lana Butner.
Speaking to the Katie Couric Media portal, the experts recommended omega-3, arguing that, since our body does not naturally produce this nutrient, we have to get it from food or supplements. In addition to contributing to better heart and brain health, omega-3 fatty acids fight inflammation and oxidative stress.

The same nutritionists point out that vitamin D deficiency is very common in this age group and can negatively affect health. Depression and osteoporosis are among the possible consequences.
When vitamin B12 levels are below adequate, our body also suffers. The importance of this vitamin lies in the fact that it is essential for hematopoiesis, which consists of the synthesis of the formed elements of the blood and its functions and for the normal functioning of the central and peripheral nervous system. One of the reasons that justifies the lack of vitamin D is the difficulty of absorbing the nutrient, which worsens with age.
Magnesium, in turn, is essential for the functioning of the intestine, helps reduce insomnia and is good for the heart.
