In a statement, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the bombardment of the 3rd Infantry Brigade headquarters of the 91st Division in the Ain Zeitim base, with dozens of Katyusha rockets.
The Lebanese movement, allied with Iran, claimed that the bombings occurred "in response to the Israeli enemy's attacks on villages and homes of civilians in the south, the most recent being in Srifa, al-Adissa and Rab el-Thalatine".
These villages in southern Lebanon were today subjected to Israeli attacks, reported the official Lebanese agency (Ani).
The Israeli Army, in turn, indicated that about 35 shots were identified coming from Lebanon towards the Ein Zeitim region, in northern Israel.
The border between Lebanon and Israel has been the scene of almost daily exchanges of fire since the beginning of the war between the Israeli forces and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, more than six months ago.
For about a week, the Shiite movement, allied with Hamas, has intensified its attacks on Israeli military installations in a context of tensions between Tel Aviv and Tehran.
Since the beginning of the war between Israel and Hamas, on October 7, in the Gaza Strip, at least 376 people have been killed in Lebanon, including 250 members of Hezbollah and at least 70 civilians, according to a count established by the France Presse agency based on data from the Shiite group and statements and official Lebanese sources.
Israel, in turn, counted the death of ten soldiers and eight civilians.
