Argentina says Hezbollah "launders money" on the border with Brazil and Paraguay
Argentine Security Minister Patricia Bullrich said today in Chile that the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah operates in the triple border of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, a territory where "it is installed and launders money".

"[Hezbollah members] use Brazil's PCC, Primeiro Comando Capital, they use Argentine and Paraguayan organizations that carry out kidnappings, robberies or drug trafficking. And they buy and launder money," Bullrich argued at the 2024 National Business Meeting (ENADE) in Santiago, Chile.
Bullrich argued that "they use these organizations as front organizations, and present themselves as traders or entrepreneurs in the region", although she did not insist on the presence of Hezbollah in Chile, as she had stated last week.
"And that is perhaps why we Argentines have a special sensitivity, because last week our highest criminal court just issued a ruling saying that Iran acted in Argentina as a terrorist state. And that its instrument was Hezbollah," she commented.
"But the same may be happening with other organizations, which are appearing with a level of sophistication and planning typical of backgrounds linked to the Armed Forces," she added.
It should be recalled that Chile presented a note of protest against the statements of the Argentine Security Minister on the alleged presence of Hezbollah in the city of Iquique, in the north of the country.
This action was added to the letter that the Chilean ambassador to the United States, Juan Gabriel Valdés, sent to the US Congress to express his discomfort with the statements of Republican Senator Marco Rubio, who also suggested that there is a presence of Hezbollah in Chile and links to that movement, one of Iran's main allies.
