Martín Vega is only 15 years old, but he has enough talent to represent his country... on skates.

The young man has been practicing figure skating since he was 6 years old, but in April, his dream of representing Argentina in an international championship was almost ruined.

Martin was at his doorstep in La Matanza, waiting for a friend, when two men on a motorcycle approached and, using a knife, assaulted him, taking, among other things, one of his most precious possessions: his skates.

At the time of the assault, the young man was preparing for two important moments in his career this year: the national figure skating championship and the possibility of joining the Argentine national team for the sport. Without skates, these could be two forgotten dreams, since the family could not afford to buy new skates, which cost up to 2 thousand euros in the South American country. "The skates are like my feet," said the boy in a video in which he appealed for help to recover what had been stolen from him, quoted by Clarín.

However, when his story became public, everything was resolved.

A neighbor of the boy, who knew members of the production of an Argentine channel, passed on the story to them, which was soon broadcast on TV. Several celebrities quickly came together to donate money to Martín's family.

"I can already buy the skates. I have no words to thank them," shared the boy's mother.

The happiness is reflected in the boy who his father once wanted to be a soccer player, but whose passion for jumping on skates led him to change course. "I would very much like to reach a World Championship and leave a mark on this sport, to represent Argentina and say 'I also reached the top'," he said.
