In a statement, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP (Cometlis) reports that on Thursday it carried out house searches in the parishes of Lumiar (Lisbon) and Fernão Ferro (Seixal), having arrested two men, aged 37 and 51, suspected of drug trafficking.
Following this operation, the authorities seized 8,931 doses of cocaine, 82,204 of hashish, as well as 366,280 euros, three firearms, 37 rounds of ammunition, three cars and two high-powered motorcycles, among other objects.
The detainees were brought to the Lisbon Judicial Court for the first interrogation, awaiting a measure of coercion.
"The PSP has been aggressively combating trafficking in the capital and those who engage in it, a strategy that materializes in the prosecution of dozens of criminal investigation operations in this area", underlines the Cometlis note.
