Former Benfica election candidate and AVB's victory: "A slap in the face ..."

Francisco Benítez, former candidate for the presidency of Benfica, used social media on Saturday night to leave a message about André Villas-Boas' victory in the elections for the new president of FC Porto.

The leader of the Serve Benfica Movement, who was defeated by Rui Costa in 2021, speaks of a "slap of democracy" about the vote that led Pinto da Costa to leave the position he had held for 42 years.

"Today we took a slap of democracy," wrote Benítez on the social network X.

André Villas-Boas, it is recalled, won the elections for the presidency of FC Porto by a landslide and will be the 32nd president of the blue and whites.
