Abel Ferreira loses his temper with VAR: "I saw it and it was a goal"

Palmeiras took, in the early hours of Thursday to Friday, 'one step' into the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, when they received and beat Botafogo-SP, in the first leg of the third round, by 2-1. A match that, however, was marked by a controversial move.
Rony put the home team ahead, at 57 minutes, and, shortly after, scored again, in a move that, however, would end up being disallowed by VAR, due to an offside position. A decision that deserved intense discussion by Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira, not only during, but also after the game.
"We scored two goals. In my opinion, one more. For me, it's a goal, but VAR should be used to clear up doubts. I saw it and it was a goal. I was talking to the linesman and complained in a... The line cannot be drawn in the middle of the body," he said, quoted by the Brazilian portal Globoesporte.
"VAR, if it is to be used, is to clarify. For me, it was not offside. If I looked and it was OK, I would continue. But, for me, they draw the line in the middle of the body of the player who is next to Rony. I don't study for that, so let's wait," he added.
