Rita Ferro Rodrigues was not indifferent to the news of a nine-year-old Nepalese boy who was violently attacked by a group of classmates, also minors, at a school in Lisbon earlier this year.
During the attacks, which were filmed, the group insulted the child with phrases such as "go back to your country", "you don't belong here" and "we don't want anything to do with you".
Highlighting the case on her Instagram page, the presenter noted: "9 years old. Victim of physical violence and hate speech by colleagues. He was left with wounds and bruises. This is what happens when hate speech is normalized by parties made up of people who, after blessing themselves a lot, go to mass and speak in the name of God".
"I felt physically sick when I heard this news", she wrote at the end.
