Rita Ferro Rodrigues posted an old photograph on her Instagram page, from when she was a child, and ended up talking about the times when she played in the street.
"I miss being little and playing in the street until nightfall and my mother calling me from the window to go home for dinner", she began by writing in the caption of the publication, then regretting the fact that these habits are no longer so common.
"I don't see that much on the streets anymore. I used to spend hours playing with rubber bands, skateboarding and marbles, playing ball, exploring my neighborhood in adventure mode. After school, I would leave my backpack in my room and go knock on my friends' doors to see who 'could play'. When their parents opened the door, the question was always the same. 'Is my friend home? Can she come out to play?'", she said.
"Well, today I missed this and Dona Arsénia who was a very dear old neighbor who would still make us bread with marmalade so that we wouldn't go out to play on an empty stomach", she also said.
