According to the source, the visit will take place within the scope of the Victory Day celebrations, on May 9, in the Russian capital. Several topics will be discussed in the meeting with Vladimir Putin, namely the Russia/Guinea-Bissau cooperation in the mining and hydrocarbon exploration domain, the source said.

The Guinean President was in Russia last year, during the second Russia/Africa Summit, and paid an official visit to the country in 2022.

Quoted by the Russian agency Tass, Yury Ushakov, advisor to the Russian President, said today that the two leaders know each other well and that, during the talks, "issues related to the growing bilateral cooperation, essentially in the commercial and economic areas" should be "addressed".
