"Consecration of the people's right". Abbas welcomes recognition of Palestine
The President of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), Mahmoud Abbas, today welcomed the recognition of the Palestinian state by Spain, Ireland and Norway, a decision that will be formalized on May 28.

The decision contributes to the "enshrinement of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination in their land and to the adoption of real measures to support the implementation of the two-state solution," the PA presidency said in a statement.
Ireland, Spain and Norway announced today that they will recognize the State of Palestine on May 28, an announcement that comes amid the war between Israel and the extremist Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
