Elements of the platform that brings together PSP and GNR unions and associations met today to approve a proposal on the mission supplement that will be sent to the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI), the structure's spokesperson told Lusa.
Bruno Pereira specified that this counterproposal was agreed upon by all elements of the platform and comes as a reaction to the proposal presented by MAI last week, which was deemed unacceptable by PSP and GNR structures, who defend a mission supplement identical to the one attributed by the previous Government to PJ elements.
The official, who is also the president of the National Union of Police Officers (SNOP), also said that PSP and GNR unions and associations will abandon negotiations with the Government "if there is no 'common sense' proposal from MAI" that approaches the values they defend for the mission supplement.
The platform's spokesperson also said that possible forms of struggle were discussed at the meeting if MAI maintains what it called an "initial proposal".
According to the platform, MAI's proposal for the new mission supplement is "unacceptable and vexatious", in addition to reducing income in some cases.
MAI proposed a new mission supplement for PSP and GNR elements of between 365.13 and 625.94 euros.
The proposed supplement is based on the base salaries of the national director of PSP and the general commander of GNR and replaces the current supplement for service and risk in the security forces.
With this new mission supplement, officers would receive a mission supplement of 12% of the base remuneration of the national director of PSP and the commander of GNR, which is 5,216.23 euros, while the percentage for PSP chiefs and GNR sergeants is 9% and for agents and guards is 7%.
The current supplement for service and risk in the security forces that PSP and GNR elements receive has a variable component that corresponds to 20% of the base salary and a fixed component of 100 euros.
MAI guarantees that all GNR and PSP elements "have an increase in remuneration" and that no guard or police officer will have less income, receiving at least 1,050 euros more per year, and for some of them, more than that.
The government's proposal "follows the same rationale for criteria as the PJ supplement, which is to set the supplement in percentages by reference to the salary of the institution's top executive", so "the Government's proposal for the PSP and GNR was to set the supplement in percentages, close, which vary according to careers, compared to the top executives of the respective security forces".
