Hundreds of civil servants start to gather in Lisbon

About two hundred civil servants began to gather this afternoon in Praça da Figueira, in Lisbon, in a protest, called by Frente Comum, which will then proceed to the Ministry of Finance, for better working conditions.
The civil servants gathered at 2:20 pm in Praça da Figueira, in Lisbon, carrying banners and drums. The protest will then proceed towards the Ministry of Finance, next to Praça do Comércio.
The Frente Comum dos Sindicatos da Administração Pública scheduled a strike for today between 7:00 am and midnight.
Health, education and central services, namely courts, Social Security and finance departments, should be the sectors most affected by the strike. The number of adhesions is not yet known.
The Frente Comum demands an interim increase for all workers, an increase in the minimum wage to 1,000 this year, the enhancement of careers, the reinforcement of public services, as well as the beginning of the negotiation of the measures that integrate the common demand proposal, which was also signed by the Federação Nacional dos Sindicatos dos Trabalhadores em Funções Públicas e Sociais.
