Jorge Simão says it is very unlikely, but not impossible to win the derby

Boavista coach Jorge Simão recalled today the sports betting houses to note that "it is very unlikely" to win on the ground of FC Porto, on Sunday, in the 33rd round of the I Football League, "but it is not impossible".

Boavista have not won in over two months, when they beat Moreirense at home (1-0, on March 9), adding only three draws and four losses since then. For Jorge Simão, this "is the true derby of the city and emotionally moves the players". "I expect an intense match, neither team has yet achieved their goals. It is an opportunity for us to fight and win points that are so important to us", he said in the press conference preview. Boavista have 'stolen' points at Dragão in recent seasons and this "can serve as a stimulus" as it may be "in the players' memory", noted Jorge Simão, who also gave the example of sports betting houses to motivate his athletes. "It is very unlikely to win, but it is not an impossible mission. I am always careful to check the betting houses, because they are based on concrete facts: we have a 5% chance of winning and a 20% chance of a draw", he said. The team has six players 'on the brink' - Chidozie, Filipe Ferreira, Abascal, Vukotic, Makouta and Bozenik -, who if they receive a yellow card at Dragão will miss the last matchday game, against Vizela, last classified and already relegated. The coach did not want to say whether he would manage these players to have them available for the last match, but admitted that "it is a situation that deserves consideration". "I'm not saying what I'm going to do, whether I'll put them in or take them out. In my head, I think it's clear, but I'm the only one who knows, not even the players know yet", he acknowledged. Even losing, on Sunday, to FC Porto, and in the case of Portimonense, who currently occupy the play-off place, winning their two matches, Boavista practically guarantee their permanence if they win at home against Vizela. The result between the two teams was the same, with a 4-1 away win for both, but, at the moment, the 'black and whites' have an advantage in the direct confrontation thanks to a comfortable advantage in the goal difference (13 goals in favour of Bessa between those scored and conceded). Jorge Simão does not believe that this fact relieves pressure on Boavista for the Porto derby. "In my mind, it is not a question of devaluing tomorrow's [Sunday] game and I have to mobilise the players for this. Tomorrow's [Sunday] game is important for us and an opportunity to win points that could be very important in the end. There is nothing else beyond tomorrow's [Sunday] game, period", he reinforced. Fary Faye, a former player, sports director and, for about a year, administrator of the SAD of the 'panthers', assumed, on Tuesday, the leadership of the sports corporation after the departure of Vítor Murta, to whom he left a "word of thanks" for the "good work" that he considers to have done at Boavista. "He brought energy. Fary, President Fary, represents what Boavista is, he has many years at home, as a player and manager, and represents the mystique and culture of this club. This mystique has a lot to do with the fact that he was born and raised in a city together with FC Porto and with a mentality very much forged in difficulties and in the constant fight against adversity", he noted. Chidozie is back in the options after serving a suspension, but Bruno Onyemaechi and Bozeník, injured, do not count for Jorge Simão. Boavista, 14th classified, with 31 points, and FC Porto, third, with 66, will face each other from 8:30 pm on Sunday, at Estádio do Dragão, in Porto, in a match that will be refereed by Artur Soares Dias, from the Porto Football Association.
