Man ordered to pay €2,000 fine for touching victim's breasts

A 37-year-old man has been ordered to pay a fine of 2,160 euros by a court in Alicante, Spain, after he admitted groping a young woman in the municipality of San Vicente del Raspeig.
The incident happened in August 2022 when the suspect crossed paths with the victim in the street and greeted her with a ‘hello’. He then proceeded to grab her and grope her breasts.
The woman managed to get away and reported the incident to the police shortly afterwards.
The man admitted his actions and has been handed a fine of 4 euros a day for 18 months [totalling more than €2,000] and a restraining order banning him from going within 500 metres of the victim for three years.
The defendant had previously been convicted of a crime of attempted sexual assault and sexual harassment of a minor under the age of 16, for which he was given an eight-month suspended sentence.
