No dishwasher detergent? Find alternatives at home

Dishwasher full of dirty dishes and no dishwashing liquid in sight? There are several temporary solutions that are, of course, very effective. Victor Jacobia, a product manager at LG, quoted in Better Homes and Gardens, reveals two very common household ingredients that serve as substitutes. Take note!

Two ingredients you can use to wash dishes in the dishwasher:
- White distilled vinegar. It has an acidity capable of "breaking down food residue, including grease and oil, and when combined with the hot water and the forceful spray of the dishwasher, it gets dishes clean".
- Lemon juice. Works in a very similar way to vinegar, that is, "the citric acid works with the hot water to break down food residue and film".
Want to try it out? Just add half a cup of the ingredient of your choice to the top rack of the dishwasher before starting the normal wash cycle, advises the home appliance expert.
